Volunteer With Us

Our children need your help

Our agency runs on teamwork. We rely on a variety of people and organizations to help us keep children safe and keep families together. Volunteers play an important role. From driving children to and from appointments to spending time with individual children and visiting families, they are an essential part in our work. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of children and families in our community, volunteer with us. You’ll work with a team of people who value your efforts.

Everyone can contribute

Our volunteers are men and women, young and old, single and partnered, students, working people, and retirees. They come from diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, and religious groups.

There are a variety of volunteer positions with our agency. Some volunteers work directly with children and families by becoming special friends or tutors. Others participate in children's groups or take part in ongoing programs that benefit both children and their parents. Some help transport children where they need to go. Some serve on our Board of Directors or help with our fundraising activities. Here are some of the possible volunteer roles available:
  • Driver
  • Special Friend
  • Tutor
  • Child Care Provider
  • Summer Buddy
  • Life Book Creator
  • Board Member
  • Event and Fundraising Support

WHAT WE NEED RIGHT NOW

VOLUNTEER DRIVES IN KINGSTON
We’re looking for volunteer drivers in the Kingston area. We operate a drive program that serves children and families all across Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. Our drivers take kids to school, appointments, access visits and more. Every year, our volunteers drive the equivalent of 13 times round the Earth. For us, they are more than just drivers. They’re helping us make a better, stronger community. One drive at a time.

We’re looking for drivers based in Kingston (we have enough drivers in other parts of our service area). They need to have a flexible schedule that could see them drive kids to school and/or pick them up once school is over. They need to be friendly and like kids. They need to be fit enough to load car seats and assist kids who need it entering or exiting their car. They need a car in good working order. They need to have a valid driver’s licence, a clean driving record, a valid CPIC and references. We’ll pay mileage and other costs.

I WANT TO BE A VOUNTEER

Contact us to learn more or to apply. You’ll be screened by our contact center and then referred to a volunteer coordinator for follow up. Depending on call volumes, we’ll respond within a few business days.

Use this format: Month, Date, year. We need your date of birth to verify your age and to perform a check on your name.
