May 14th is Children and Youth In Care Day in Ontario

Published by John Suart on May 08, 2018

This is the day we recognize the thousands of young people across Ontario who are in the care of a Children’s Aid Society. They are growing up in foster care, in the care of extended family or in group homes. Some don’t have a family to call their own.

Children and Youth In Care Day is about their future. It’s about what they can achieve. It’s about where they can go. It is about seeing their potential. They are more than just statistics or the sum of the many challenges they’ve had to overcome. They are so much more

It takes a village to raise a child. Our Children’s Aid Society takes care of children and youth on behalf of the community. In a sense, we’re all responsible for these young people. And we all have a stake in helping them to be the best they can be. That’s why your help is so important.

Let’s mark Children and Youth In Care Day in Ontario by committing to do everything we can to help kids in care reach their potential.

How you can help
Foster. We need foster homes for teens and kids with special needs right now.
Volunteer. We need all sorts of volunteers – from drivers to mentors.
Donate. Help support our Bursary program that sends kids in care to college and university.
